A charming and most elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and white Carrara marble clock signed by Vittoz et Cie and Bronzier Labroue à Paris. The clock is raised by four fine topie shaped feet below the white Carrara marble base with rounded sides. The body displays a beautiful richly chased mottled foliate band with fluted columns at each side adorned with richly chased swaging floral garlands. At the center is the enameled clock face with Roman hour numerals and pierced ormolu hands framed within a mottled bezel surrounded by foliate ormolu mounts. Above is a stunning and very charming ormolu figure of a young man playing the flute with an enamored beautiful young lady intently listening while leaning on his shoulder. Each is dressed in wonderfully executed period attire standing on a ground designed base with a hat hanging on a tree stump and a finely detailed woven basket of flowers. All in a rich satin and burnished finish with exquisite quality and all original gilt throughout. — Read Less
