A handsome and high quality French mid 19th century Renaissance st. patinated bronze, ormolu and Black Belgium marble statue of Omphale. The richly chased and detailed statue is raised upon a rectangular mottled marble base with a protruding front center above an ormolu plate. The base is etched with a gilt floral design and central reserve. Above in patinated bronze and ormolu is the statue of a seated Omphale in classical attire with a lion fur draped on the bench. She is holding a wooden club in one hand and a wool winder in the other. Wonderful rich patina throughout.
