A spectacular French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu twelve light chandelier. The top of the chandelier has a three richly detailed bows with ribbons flowing down and tied at the mid section by acorn leaves. The ribbons continue downwards to a fanciful bow that joins pairs of horns and continue further to be tied at the bottom with tassels below. The middle section is decorated by foliate branches with acorns. The acorn branches end with additional candle cups.
This chandelier was modeled after a pair of similarly designed scones by the bronzier Claude Galle which he created in 1809, for the Grand Salon of " Le Petit Trianon" - The Queen's Palace. — Read Less
