A stunning and large scale true pair of Italian early 19th century Venetian hand painted and giltwood pedestals. The detailed impressive figures are raised on original square bases with cut corners and handsome giltwood paw feet below a mottled giltwood band. The base also displays a most impressive and richly carved roaring lion's head with smaller figures at each side, all set on a a magnificently executed faux Porphyry background. Each stand on a faux painted Verde Antico marble mottled base and are dressed in exquisitely etched and hand painted attire, displaying a striking array of vivid and rich colors. They each hold a beautiful giltwood cornucopia with a candle above. All original rich patina throughout. — Read Less
