A very handsome and unique Italian 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated console. The console is raised on an unusual six fluted tapered legs accented with encircling foliate garlands acanthus leaves, draped garlands and lattice designs. The curved frieze is decorated with a central urn flanked by sphinx amidst scrolled foliate and beaded border. At the top of each leg is a slightly protruding block with carvings of urns and blossoming flowers and musical instruments. At each side is a central animal mask in a circular border amidst foliate scrolls and beaded borders. All below the thick Vert de Patricia marble top. — Read Less
