A magnificent Italian 18th century finely carved giltwood and marble Roman console. The console is raised on faux Porphyr painted supports below the claw feet. Four scrolled legs are decorated with Rocaille scrolled designs with cabochons. The legs are joined with an opulent X stretcher centered by acanthus leaves. The wonderful pierced frieze continues on each side with moulded scrolls and foliate throughout, All below the very impressive Sienna marble veneered top with Vert Antique marble border.
