A magnificent French 19th century Louis XVI st. Sèvres porcelain and ormolu clock. The clock is raised by fine topie shaped feet below the ormolu base which is decorated with elegant block rosettes above each foot and beautiful fitted Sèvres porcelain plaques. At the center is a richly chased ormolu reserve of musical instruments and floral garlands tied together with a bow, all below a most decorative lightly curved fitted Sèvres porcelain plaque of a seated winged cherub painting and holding a palette. To each side are charming and richly chased cherubs one holding a lovely plaque and and a paint palette while the other is holding a lyre. The enameled clock face displays cobalt blue Roman and Arabic numerals with fine pierced foliate designed ormolu hands. Above is a striking finely detailed urn with beautiful richly chased luxuriant overflowing flowers in a rich satin and burnished finish. All original gilt and patina throughout.
