An extremely elegant French 19th century Louis XV st. kingwood and ormolu mounted three drawer Bureau Plat, signed Soubrier. The unusual shaped desk is raised by slender cabriole legs decorated by richly chased top ormolu foliate mounts above the ormolu chutes and bottom wrap around sabots. The scalloped shaped apron has three drawers with ormolu keyhole escutcheons. The top with a central fitted blown and gold tooled leather is bordered by a kingwood border and handsome ormolu mottled gallery. nLouis Soubrier was an early 19th century French master cabinetmaker inspired by original models from the 18th century.
