An attractive and most charming Italian 19th century white Carrara marble statue of Galatea and Pan. The statue depicts a beautiful nymph Galatea standing aside a bust of Pan (the god of the wild, nature and companion to the nymphs) while a flowing garment gently lays on her leg. She stands with her left hand placed on Pan's head while she looks down at the seashell in her right hand. At her feet are finely carved laurel vines alongside a bowed ribbon tied on a scepter with an acorn finial.
