A stunning and very charming museum quality Italian 19th century white Carrara marble statue of a boy signed Ugo Zannoni Milano 1876. The statue of a young boy having hit his finger with a hammer is raised by a circular base with a fine mottled border and beautiful ground design. Above is the masterfully sculpted young boy with charming curly hair dressed in a wonderfully executed flowing work tunic with a sheath tied around his waist. He displays an exceptionally well-captured painful grimace and is holding his finger in his mouth having banged it with a hammer while tempering his sword. His sword has fallen by his feet next to magnificent intricately sculpted blooming flowers. Exceptional attention to detail and wonderful proportions throughout. — Read Less
