A beautiful and high quality Italian 19th century Alabaster bust and matching pedestal. This stunning bust is raised on a Alabaster marble pedestal with a multi facetted base with mottled edges around the circular socle above. The column is decorated with straight fluted patterns and the upper half of the shaft has a smooth consistent finish. The bust above depicts a young girl dressed in working attire with her hair tied back in a loose fitting bandana. In one hand she holds handfuls of wheat and delicate flowers while in her other hand she is holding a small scale sickle for picking her wheat and flowers.
