An exceptional Italian mid 18th century ebonized fruitwood and walnut inlaid commode from the Lombardi region. This stunning commode is raised on front lion shaped feet below mottled edge frieze. Above are four very impressive cut angle drawers with ebonized fruitwood moulded border and walnut inlaid façades. Each drawer has two patinated bronze handles and key, all inlaid with bone and ebonized fruitwood, with lounging figures, amidst a scrolled foliate design. Each side in walnut has an ebonized inlay framing a floral design. All below the inlaid top with figural scenes amidst scrolled and straight borders. All original patina. — Read Less
