An exceptional Italian 18th century Baroque st. giltwood, Brèche de Sicile, and Sienna marble console from Rome. The freestanding console is raised by elegant cabriole legs with fine scrolled acanthus leaf feet, striking and most decorative array of reeded gadroon designs, richly carved foliate movements, and blooming flowers set on a lattice background. The legs are connected by a stunning X shaped stretcher with additional beautiful foliate designs and centered by a unique and most decorative pierced foliate reserve. Above each leg are beautiful carved reserves flanking the impressive pierced frieze decorated with superb reeded gadroon movements, fine foliate accents, and charming richly carved swaging blooming flower garlands. Above is the stunning original quarter veneered Brèche de Sicile marble top with a lovely scalloped shape and a fine rounded fitted Sienna marble fillet at the border.
