A striking true pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. flamed Mahogany, ormolu, and Rouge de Maine marble buffets. Each one door one drawer buffet is raised by elegant circular tapered legs with fine mottled and foliate fitted ormolu sabots. Above the straight apron is the single door decorated with a stunning central panel with two beautiful quarter veneered designs showcasing the warm wood grain and framed within a fine inlaid fillet with charming ormolu rosettes at each corner. The doors open in opposite directions on each buffet and reveal the beautifully finished interior, original hardware, and one adjustable shelf when open. The elegant open curved sides display two shelves, each also showcasing the beautiful wood grain below a decorative recessed panel centering the single drawer decorated with a richly chased pierced foliate ormolu keyhole escutcheon and flanked by fine block rosettes.
