A statement making and high quality pair of Italian early 19th century Baroque st. giltwood and faux painted marble pedestals. Each pedestal is raised by three impressive pierced scrolled foliate supports adorned with large richly chased luxuriant acanthus leaves. The circular supports display beautiful and most decorative turned and reeded designs with charming cherubs at the base and striking finely detailed cherubs at the center riding richly carved birds while playing trumpets. Above additional impressive pierced scrolled foliate designs are the display tiers with wonderfully executed faux painted marble tops framed within fine mottled giltwood borders. All original gilt throughout.
