A spectacular and rare pair of Italian early 19th century 1st Empire period flamed Mahogany cabinet vitrines. Each four door vitrine is raised by elegant bun feet below beautiful column like designs leading upwards with a striking richly carved and most decorative tied fluted staff with fine acanthus leaf accents and the striking eternal flame. The doors each retain all of their original wonderful hand blown glass panes with lovely delicate scrolled elements, fine ormolu keyhole escutcheons with the lower doors opening to reveal one shelf and the upper doors opening to reveal three shelves with each shelf being original and adjustable. At the centers are elegant pull outs with two fine ormolu pulls which open to reveal the original leather writing surfaces framed within beautiful borders. The sides also showcase the exceptional wood grain while the top crown displays an elegant mottled band with richly caved palmettes. Exquisite and most decorative flamed Mahogany wood grains and all original patina and hardware throughout. — Read Less
