A sensational and palatially scaled pair of Italian 18th century Louis XV period giltwood and marble Neapolitan consoles with their original matching mirrors. Each stunning console is raised by most elegant tapered cabriole legs with most decorative scrolled feet and lavish floral corner carvings. The striking pierced arbalest shaped frieze displays beautiful richly carved foliate movements and a fine central floral reserve above a lovely reeded design. The sides also display elegant pierced designs with charming floral rosettes. The original Sienna marble tops follow the curvaceous shape of the console and display a fine double mottled border. The exceptional double framed mirrors above each display all of their original mirror plates. The border displays fine fluted patterns and a superb scalloped shaped base, centered by a scrolled foliate reserve, and foliate garlands that extend up each side. Wonderful scrolled foliate and floral movements with a fluted design lead up to the majestic top crown centered by a most decorative mirror plate below richly carved flowers. All original gilt throughout.
