An exquisite true pair of French 19th century Empire st. ormolu and granite five arm lamps, after a model by Claude Galle. Each lamp is raised by a square granite base with a beautiful stepped ormolu foliate wrap around band and richly chased laurel wreaths and pierced ormolu mounts at the face. At the center are most impressive and intricately detailed winged maidens draped in wonderfully executed period attire, seemingly holding up the lights above their heads. Each of the five elegantly curved arms display most decorative scrolled rinceau design and handsome richly chased faces.
