A stunning and very high quality pair of French early 19th century Louis XVI st. black Belgian marble, white Carrara marble and ormolu urns. Each unique urn is raised by a fine square black Belgian marble base with concave corners and decorated with beautiful richly chased tied wrap around ormolu berried laurel bands. The circular support displays a lovely fluted design with finely detailed fitted foliate ormolu chandelles. The urn shaped body is raised by a socle shaped pedestal support and encased within delicate palmettes with exceptional richly chased Bacchanalian mask of charming cherubs in a superb satin and burnished finish at each side set on a fluted staff like handle with a top acorn finial. The handles are connected by beautiful intricately detailed swaging vines with grape leaves and grape cluster all below the elegantly curved neck and ormolu lid with elegant interlocking foliate designs and richly chased top acorn finial.
