A very high quality and large scale pair of French mid 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu, three arm sconces, “Aux Tourtereaux”, possibly by Henry Dasson, attributed to Pierre-François Feuchère (1737-1823). Each has a bottom pierced finial with fruits and berries below large acanthus leaves leading to the three ‘S’ scrolled arms. The arms have an interior ‘C’ scroll design with floral rosettes amidst large acanthus leaves. The two outer arms are joined by a swaging floral garland, and the middle arm has a charming winged cherub with a flute. Above is a large bow below a fluted pedestal decorated by two love birds next to a laurel branch amidst clouds. Exceptional chasing throughout and all original gilt. — Read Less
