A stunning pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. white Carrara marble and ormolu ewers attributed to Henry Dasson. Each ewer is raised by square ormolu bases with fine block feet and a foliate wrap around bands. Above the fluted socle pedestals are the elegantly shaped bodies encased with richly chased foliate designs and beautiful pierced oak leaves leading up the sides. Above are handsome and finely detailed ram's heads with a charming winged cherubs clutching the scrolled rims. The fluted spouts display fine foliate designs with lovely maiden's faces below.
