A most elegant true pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. Biscuit de Sèvres porcelain statues. Each statue is raised by a square base with cut corners where the beautiful personages above are standing in front of tree stumps. One statue depicts a beautiful maiden draped in a wonderfully executed flowing garment with a goblet in one hand and castanets in the other. There are cymbals at her feet and finely detailed grapes in her hair. The other statue depicts a handsome man dancing with a tambouring in his hand while he is draped in a cape. A charming pan flute and leaves wrap around the tree trunk at his feet. — Read Less
