A stunning and extremely high quality pair of French 18th century Louis XVI period rosewood, tulipwood, ormolu, and Coquillier de Bilbao marble dessert consoles, signed by Jaques-Laurent Cosson. Each freestanding console is raised by most elegant circular tapered legs with fine fitted topie shaped ormolu sabots. Each leg is connected by a bottom tier shelf highlighting the beautiful tulipwood grain framed within a pierced ormolu gallery. Above the two front legs are superb intricately detailed intertwined berried laurel branches tied with a ribbon in a rich satin and burnished finish. The apron displays three drawers each displaying richly chased ormolu berried laurel keyhole escutcheons set on a beautiful tulipwood background and framed within a rosewood border. Above are the original Coquillier de Bilbao demi-lune shaped marble tops with fine mottled borders. — Read Less
