A charming and most unique French early 19th century Louis XVI st. Ormolu, white Carrara, and Gris St. Anne marble clock. This adorable clock in the shape of a well is raised on a circular white Carrara marble base and supported on topie shaped Ormolu feet below. The white Carrara marble base is tastefully decorated with a Gris St. Anne marble well that displays etchings to represent individual stone. The well and outer edge of the white Carrara marble base are wrapped with a beaded Ormolu band with four small scale pillars connected by swaging linked chains. The top edge of the well is accented with a fine mottled Ormolu rim as well as two support beams that hold the clock above. A delicate link chain is hung over the clock and supports a charming bucket inside the well. The enameled clock face displays black Roman numerals and highly detailed pierced scrolling foliate Ormolu hands. The support beams extend upward and over the top of the clock to form a lovely scrolled spray topped with an acorn finial. All original hardware throughout. — Read Less
