A stunning and very high quality French early 19th century Charles X period Rosewood, Satinwood, Elmwood, and white Carrara marble commode circa 1830. The unique two door five drawer chest is raised on elegant scrolled feet below the bottom concealed drawer decorated with exquisite intricately detailed inlaid Satinwood foliate designs. At the center are two doors decorated with additional masterfully executed Satinwood foliate inlaid designs with most decorative scrolled Rinceaux movements and lyre like central fillets set on the stunning Rosewood background. The doors open to reveal three Elmwood drawers with fine inlaid fillets, a single lock at the bottom drawer, and an impressive top to bottom lock at the inside of the finished doors. Above is an additional drawer also decorated with the same beautiful designs as the bottom drawer centered by a fine keyhole escutcheon all below the original white Carrara marble top with an exquisite triple mottled border. — Read Less
