A striking French early 19th century Charles X period giltwood octagonal barometer by Gohin, and retailed by René Dauchez in Paris. The barometer has an exquisitely decorated opaline façade within a mottled giltwood frame. The face with a burgundy colored center displays all of the different types of weather conditions in gilt lettering. At four corners are gilt scrolled medallions.
