An elegant French 19th century Transitional st. Kingwood, Boxwood, Tulipwood, Charmwood, and ormolu commode. The three drawer three drawer chest is raised by cabriole legs showcasing the beautiful wood grain and leading to the scalloped shaped frieze with a striking central ormolu reserve of the urn of prosperity draped with berried laurel garlands and flanked by acanthus leaves. At the center are three drawers each decorated with charming ormolu keyhole escutcheons with berried laurel garlands tied with a bow and superb pulls with a similar design connected by a large swaging berried laurel garland and set on a stunning array of most decorative inlaid designs. The cut corners display unique and most decorative inlaid designs leading upwards giving the illusion that the sides are fluted with each side panel showcasing the warm wood grains framed within a fine charmwood band.
