A most charming French 19th century terra cotta statue of two young boys picking grapes, signed Leon Pilet. The statue is raised by a circular base of a terrain design with detailed roots and leaves. The two wonderfully executed cherubs are draped in a fine flowing fabric, holding an overflowing bundle of grapes. The one on the right is seated on a rock while the other has his arm around his shoulder.
