A charming French 19th century patinated Bronze and Verde Antico marble statue titled Chemin des Roses, by August Moreau. The bronze statue's title meaning Path Of the Roses is raised on a mottled circular Verde Antico marble base with its bronze signature plaque at the front. Above is a wonderfully designed ground like patinated Bronze base displaying the signature and stamp where the young couple are standing. The statue depicts a young boy and girl walking side by side with the girl displaying a smiling expression while holding her dress up with roses falling from it. The boy has his arm placed on her shoulder while his straw hat hangs on his back. Exceptional attention to detail with all original and rich patina throughout.

Auguste Moreau (1834-1917), son of artist Jean-Baptist Moreau, Auguste was a renowned 19th century Parisian sculptor.Moreau attended l’École des Beaux Arts in Paris, and debuted in 1861 exhibiting often at the Exposition Universelle in France.
