An exceptional French mid 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu clock, signed Bozzo, A. Angers and stamped Japy Freres Médaille d'Or 1855. The clock is raised by four elegant topie shaped feet with fluted designs below striking block reserves. Richly chased and most decorative swaging berried laurel garlands extend along the front while beautiful scrolled elements lead up each side. At the center is the elegant enameled clock face with fine cobalt blue Roman numerals, black Arabic numerals and lovely pieced foliate ormolu hands. Richly chased swaging floral garlands lead upwards to an impressive and finely detailed tied ribbon. At the top is a most decorative reeded urn with an intricately detailed handsome ram's head at the front and adorned with fine oak leaves with Greek key shaped handles and a fluted floral top finial.
