A stunning and extremely decorative French 19th century Louis XVI st. giltwood cabinet. The cabinet is raised by fine block supports with elegant fillets and a central carved foliate reserve. The single door displays an exceptional intricately detailed central mask of a beautiful lady with an impressive foliate headpiece and a superb array of Rinceau shaped scrolled foliate designs and lovely finely detailed rosettes framed within a mottled border. The door opens to reveal the finished interior with two beautiful burl Elm wood shelves and all original hardware. Striking scrolled elements lead up each side with large remarkable acanthus leaves and additional beautiful maidens while each side displays elegant recessed panels with a graceful lattice design with a central rosette and additional lovely foliate details. The top displays a most decorative curved design with large acanthus leaves and an additional lovely lattice design with charming floral accents and a richly carved central rosette all below the top finished display shelf with an elegant mottled band.
