An elegant and very high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Époque period Mahogany, ormolu and Sarrancolin marble buffet signed, ‘Haentges Frères, Paris’. The four door and four drawer buffet is raised by topie shaped fluted legs ending with ormolu sabots. At the center are two doors decorated with fine recessed panels, delicate foliate ormolu keyhole escutcheons, and elegant tapered reserves while the two outer doors display a most decorative reeded design flanked by fluted columns. The doors open to reveal all their original hardware, the stamp with the signature, and one adjustable shelf. The four drawers each display graceful berried laurel wreath pulls, one central keyhole escutcheon which locks the two central drawers, and richly chased foliate reserves in a beautiful satin and burnished finish at each side. Above is the original Sarrancolin marble top with a fine mottled edge. All original gilt throughout.
