An exquisite French 19th century Louis Philippe period Tortoiseshell, brass, and ebonized Fruitwood Boulle cave a liqueur. The cave a liqueur is raised by elegant ebonized Fruitwood ball feet below the most decorative bombee shaped frieze. The frieze displays exceptionally etched brass panels with beautifully inlaid floral elements on a Tortoiseshell background. The body repeats the same wonderful movements and is decorated with additional finely executed floral designs on the front and ebonized Fruitwood on the sides and back. The top lifts up and locks in place while the front folds in to showcase the lovely front, foliate inlays, and the original ormolu key. Inside is the complete set of sixteen cordial glasses and four decanters each displaying fine fluted designs and fitted within richly chased foliate ormolu supports. The decanters retain their original silvered bronze labels indicating the liqueur contained inside. The decanters and glasses can be removed from the display case for serving. — Read Less
