A striking French early 19th century 1st Empire period flamed mahogany, ebonized fruitwood, brass and black Belgian marble console. The two tiered freestanding console is raised by fine ball feet with most decorative brass fillets extending along the straight apron. The bottom tier displays additional most decorative inlaid brass fillets framing and showcasing the beautiful flame mahogany grain. The front supports display an elegant square tapered design with charming ebonized fruitwood feet at the base and impressive richly carved Caryatids above while the back supports display inverted square tapered designs. The straight apron also showcases the stunning wood grain and displays a fine brass band which extends along the sides, which are decorated in the same manner. Above is the original fitted black Belgian marble top framed within a fine mottled border. — Read Less
