A wonderful and high quality French 19th century Empire st. Mouchette Mahogany, Burl Ash, Santos Mahogany, Kingwood, Ormolu, and Giallo Antico marble buffet. This stunning three drawer four door buffet is supported by eight Ebony paw feet connected by the foliate decorated arbalest shaped apron. A mottled Ormolu band accents the top of the apron and wraps around the sides. The four front doors which conceal the three Santos Mahogany drawers inside are divided into three sections. The middle section with its two 'sans traverse' interlocking doors is decorated with a square Mouchette Mahogany veneer surrounded by a Burl Ash band. The Burl Ash band is tastefully decorated by a scrolling pierced band of foliate Ormolu designs framed within a Kingwood band. The two doors flanking the mid section are decorated in a similar way with their Mouchette Mahogany and Burl Ash veneers. Each door has a beautiful palmette designed Ormolu key. The four doors are flanked by exquisite caryatids on both protruding corners. Each caryatid is designed with Ormolu feet, a Burl Ash square body, and dressed in patinated Bronze flowing garments. The two side panels are decorated in the same fashion as the front doors with their Mouchette Mahogany and Burl Ash veneers.
