An elegant and very decorative French 18th century Louis XVI Period Oak Deux Corps cabinet, from the Liège region. The lower part of the two piece Vaisselier cabinet is raised by circular bun feet below a mottled frieze with curved corners and a protruding center panel. Above are the two doors each with central recessed panels with top carved foliage, and framed within a mottled border. The two panels are flanking a central vertical carved panel with carved scrolled acanthus leaves. The doors retain their hardware including the lock and mechanical door latch which locks the door from top to bottom. Above are two drawers which also have richly carved designs below the upper portion of the cabinet having two additional drawers below the original hand blown glass doors. The doors are flanking a central vertical glass fitted panel, with both richly decorated with carved pierced foliate scrolls and sprays. The doors open to reveal three original scalloped shaped shelves with a lovely blue patinated interior. At the curved corners are additional glass fitted panels with similar and very decorative carved pierced designs. Above is the attractive top curved mottled bonnet with a central top pierced reserve.
