An outstanding French 18th century Louis XV st. Cherrywood, ebonized Fruitwood, exotic wood, and ormolu commode. The beautiful bombee shaped four drawer chest is raised by elegant scrolled feet flanking the graceful scalloped shaped frieze at the bottom drawer. The bottom drawer is opened by a unique concealed mechanism at the underside while each of the three upper drawers displays richly chased rosette designed ormolu pulls and fine ormolu keyhole escutcheons. Stunning masterfully executed inlaid floral designs in an exceptional array of most decorative colorful exotic woods extend over each drawer and throughout the chest with lovely blooming flowers and charming tied ribbons with delicate inlaid ebonized Fruitwood fillets. Each side displays a remarkable central ebonized Fruitwood fan design framed within lovely foliate designs and additional fillets while luxuriant finely detailed branches and charming leaves extend along with the top drawer.
