A fine French 18th Century Louis XV Period Walnut 'Deux Corps' cabinet. The 'Deux Corps' meaning two body cabinet is raised on a lower two door cabinet with front cabriole legs and back block supports below the scalloped frieze with a carved band. Above are two doors with mottle recessed panels which open to reveal a single shelf and two interior drawers. The upper cabinet is slightly less deep to provide a display surface, with two doors above decorated with mottled recessed panels and centered by a carved tree like reserve. The doors open to reveal one shelf to which the left door locks in place, allowing the right door to be secured tightly utilizing a carved lip for each door to join together. All four doors retain their original iron keyhole escutcheons and impressive hinges, and both sides of the cabinet are elegantly decorated with recessed panels. Above the doors is a central carved reserve of two floral branches below the impressive top crown. Wonderful original and warm patina throughout. — Read Less
