A beautiful and very high quality French 18th century Louis XV period Rosewood, exotic wood, ormolu, and Brèche d'Alep marble commode. The two drawer chest is raised by elegant lightly curved tapered legs with superb fitted foliate ormolu sabots with an exquisite chute with floral accents leading up to striking richly chased scrolled ormolu corner mounts in an exceptional satin and burnished finish. At the center are the sans traverse (without crossbar) drawers showcasing the cabinet maker's high skill set with the bottom drawer displaying a remarkable deep arbalest shape and each decorated with stunning intricately detailed inlaid exotic wood flowers and foliate ormolu keyhole escutcheons.
