A beautiful and most unique Continental 18th century Louis XV st. Rosewood, Kingwood, Maple, and ormolu commode. The three drawer chest is raised by elegant legs with scrolled feet centering the deep arbalest shaped frieze showcasing the wonderful wood grain centered by lovely scrolled inlaid Maple designs. Above each leg are superb column like designs with remarkable interlocking scrolled foliate designs flanking the drawers. The drawers each display a decorative bombee shape with stunning finely detailed inlaid scrolled foliate Maple designs set on a Rosewood background and decorated with superb pierced richly chased ormolu pulls with tied berried laurel branches and intricately detailed cameo reserves. The sides also are decorated in a similar manner with additional wonderfully executed inlaid scrolled Maple designs set on an quarter veneered Rosewood background.
