A spectacular and rare French 19th century Louis XV st. ebony, ormolu and Coromandel Bureau Plat. This exquisite desk is raised by elegant cabriole legs with fine wrap around fitted ormolu sabots and chutes that lead up to stunning 'Aux Dragons' ormolu mounts. Each corner mount displays impressive dragons with spectacular attention to detail amidst charming and finely chased blooming flowers. A most decorative ormolu border extends along the frieze and continues along the contours of each leg, with extremely finely chased foliate ormolu mounts centered at each side. Each of the three drawers displays richly chased foliate ormolu keyhole escutcheons set on stunning wonderfully executed Coromandel panels with lovely vivid colors.
