Valentino Panciera Besarel (29 July 1829 – 11 December 1902) – Born in Val Zoldana, Italy. Growing up in poverty despite his father’s and grand fathers recognized work, Besarel was unable to have a regular education. Training and working at his father’s workshop it was only after Giuseppe Segusini saw him at work that he was able to attend the Venice Academy. He moved to Venice in the sixties and set up a workshop and despite having lost four of his finger, received great honors and European so much so that became the official supplier of the major continental monarchies.
