Joseph Wilms (1814-1892) also known as Peter Joseph Wilms was a German painter born in Bilk. He was a student at the Académie de Düsseldorf in the workshop of Wintergerst of Th. Hildebrand & W. von Schadow. He established himself in Düsseldorf where lived for the rest of his life.
