An elegant and very high quality French 19th century Louis XV st. Kingwood, Tulipwood, ormolu and Brèche marble Bibus/étagère, stamped G.DURAND. The bookshelf is raised by five most decorative cabriole legs with beautiful richly chased fitted acanthus leaf ormolu sabots. Leading up each leg is a fine ormolu filet that extends along the scalloped shaped frieze and arched sides. At the center is one adjustable shelf with an elegant scalloped shaped front set on a stunning butterfly veneered chevron designed background. Each side is decorated with a similar Tulipwood veneered design with striking finely detailed pierced foliate and seashell ormolu corner mounts. Above is the original Brèche d'Alep marble top which follows the same beautiful scalloped shape of the etagere with a fine mottled border.
