A stunning pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and Rouge marble candelabra lamps attributed to Barbedienne and after a model by John Flaxman. Each seven arm lamp is raised by most elegant topie shaped feet below the Rouge marble base. The bases display charming central fitted ormolu plaques of cherubs playing flanked by stunning fitted foliate interlocking bands with fine blooming flowers and handsome richly chased lion's heads at each side with berried laurel wreaths in their mouths. The socle shaped pedestals display lovely wrap around foliate and tied berried laurel bands with a fluted design. The ormolu bodies display charming and extremely decorative scenes of richly chased cherubs playing below a fine ormolu berried laurel band connecting impressive finely detailed rams heads at each side. Above are six elegantly scrolled arms with exceptional Rinceaux scrolls with spiral fluted designs adorned with striking acanthus leaves centering single arms leading to superb foliate bobeche and spiral fluted candle cups. The central arm is decorated in the same manner amidst outstanding griffin heads.
