An exceptional and unique French late 19th century Louis XVI st. mahogany and ormolu dining table, after a model by Adam Weisweiler. The table is raised by elegant circular tapered legs with fine topie shaped feet and ormolu top caps. Each leg is connected by a stunning and most decorative pierced geometric shaped mahogany stretcher with ormolu fillets at the borders and a central circular mottled reserve that joins together in a most decorative manner when the table is closed. Beautiful and most unique double bamboo designed supports lead upwards to richly chased circular rosettes. The top showcases the stunning mahogany grain with two leaves at the center and impressive sunburst veneered designs at each side with a central circular reserve all framed within a lovely mottled wrap around ormolu gallery with a fine beaded and fluted design.
