Antonio Travi known as Sestri was born in Sestri Ponente, Genoa Italy, in 1609. Travi favored the genre of the landscape thus placing himself in the attention of the most important Ligurian clients.  His paintings present rustic views intent on daily occupations: fishermen, shepherds or wayfarers. Travi was trained by the great Bernardo Strozzi and derived his evidence of brushstrokes and the love for color from him.
