A striking French 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated bronze and ormolu bust of Menelaus. The bust is raised by a square ormolu base below a fine mottled socle pedestal. The richly chased patinated bronze soldier is draped in period attire tied at his shoulder by a fine patinated bronze fibula. The handsome bearded man wears an impressive helmet with most decorative ormolu accents of birds and mythological creatures.
