A striking and most decorative French 18th century Louis XV period patinated olive green and giltwood barometer. The barometer is centered by a charming bottom foliate design which extends around the dial. The dial displays a beautiful patina and the weather forecasts written in French. Above is a Réaumur scale thermometer framed within a mottled giltwood border and set on an olive green patinated background. Leading up each side are richly carved foliate giltwood movements with a charming tied ribbon above. All original patinated finish and gilt throughout.
