This striking bronze portrays Perseus, who was provided with the winged sandals of Hermes so that he could fly and the cape of Hades to make him invisible rescuing Andromeda. Perseus, who was on his way back from rescuing Danaë from Medusa, used the head of Medusa to turn the sea monster into stone and save Andromeda whom he married afterward.
The bronze is raised on a black Belgium marble based with concave corners and ormolu trim, with a Rouge Antique swivel support. Exceptional details, movements and expressions throughout with all original patina.Â
